#PurpleReign: How to Wear Ultra Violet

In the year 2018 of our Lord Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter, Pantone chose Ultra Violet as color of the year. According to Pantone’s website, Ultra Violet “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.” This color isn’t for the faint of heart either. If you’re someone who can handle the attention from this bold shade, go all out with the various tones and hues. If you’re not as bold, using Ultra Violet in a subtle way works too.

The color is already available in some of your favorite stores ready for you to purchase. I don’t remember the last time I wore a color like this in my everyday life but, because it’s so beautiful, I may have to shop for a few pieces of my own.

Ultra Violet can complement so many pastel shades of spring. Whether it’s an accessory or entire ensemble, you’ll be on trend all year.

HM Blouse

A blouse like this is great for either dressing up or dressing down for a more casual look. Since it’s a statement and eye-grabber all on its own, keep everything else paired down. Try this with either a lighter wash jean or even a pair of white pants for the contrast.

Topshop Mules

Mules are my current shoe obsession. They’re a quick way to add some elegance to an ensemble and are perfect for a Sunday brunch or after-work happy hour.

DSW bootie

Booties work great when paired with shorter hemlines. Choose simpler things to let these feathered booties shine.

Nordstrom bag

If you plan on doing a lot of traveling this year, this bag sticks out in a sea of the basic black travel bag. It’s water resistant so your belongings inside won’t get damaged.

Last Call

Spring brings weddings and we’re always looking for something to wear to them all. For a dressier wedding, wear with a pair of comfortable heels. For a casual wedding, find a pair of dressy flat sandals to dance the day (or night) away.

I love a great pair of statement earrings to punch up a look. Just like the model, wear your hair back in a bun(preferably a high one) to let the earrings get all the looks.
