Tampa-based hospitality company Mainsail Lodging & Development announces the fall opening for The Karol Hotel, the first Tribute Portfolio hotel in Pinellas County. Located right in the center of Feather Sound between Clearwater, Tampa, and St. Petersburg, the boutique hotel features 123 guest rooms and suites, the signature lobby bar & restaurant K Club Bar & Bistro, rooftop bar Vantage Rooftop Bar overlooking the bay, a resort-style pool and fitness center, and 7,340 square feet for event space. Hotel suites and rooms are decorated in a palette of white marble, tawny beige, gray, and carpet with accents of Florida sky blue and abstract feather motifs.

The hotel is inspired by Karol “Miss Karol K” Kelly Bullard, wife of Fred Bullard, CEO of real estate developing company The Bullard Group.

“The Karol Hotel is going to be a showcase property – in this market, in our collection and in the Tribute Portfolio,” said Joe Collier, Mainsail Lodging & Development’s president. “The Karol will be a hideaway of classic, refined comforts, with a personality built on charm, generosity, and tasteful indulgence of the finer things – the same spirit embodied by its namesake.”

When he was offered the opportunity to build the hotel, Fred knew it needed to honor his wife.

“With her personality and drive, Karol was destined for greatness, whether as a radio DJ, finishing school founder or Florida’s first weather woman,” said Bullard. “Now she devotes herself to various charities and philanthropies, generously working to support the arts, families and children in need. It’s just who she is.”

The hotel recently announced key additions to the management team including General Manager Adam Duffey, Senior Sales Manager Lindsey Ferguson, and Catering Sales Manager Amanda Ratliff.

The Karol Hotel is located 15 minutes from the Westshore Business District and Tampa International Airport.
