Naked Farmer Restaurant officially opens in St. Pete with live music, local veggies
Naked Farmer announces the opening of their Downtown St. Pete restaurant today. If you recall, our first introduction to Naked Farmer was through their digital farmer’s market, where customers could pick up veggies from local farmers. Baskets have been delivered to homes for eight weeks at this point. Now, they’re looking forward to welcoming guests for delivery, pick-up, and dine-in of their locally-sourced, “unmessed with deliciousness” foods.
When founder Jordan Johnson realized how broken the food system is, he decided to do something about it. His concept of the “fine-fast” restaurant, where healthy meals are made with ingredients sourced locally, was created. His team spent several months building relationships with local farmers to create the supply to support the community one locally-sourced ingredient at a time.
“Florida has rich farmland, with amazing produce grown in our backyards,” said Jordan Johnson, founder of Naked Famer. “We set out to create a system of local sourcing that connects communities with their local farmers rather than the long-haul supply chain. We are proud to invite customers on our journey to becoming 100% local.”
By partnering with farmers, this provides financial stability and helps Naked Farmer scale business to meet demands. Expect to dine on high-quality, scratch-made foods with an emphasis on fresh veggies harvested at least 24 hours prior to serving. The menu includes dishes like Pecan Kale Caesar, 100% Grass-Fed Zero-Grain Steak, and a Watermelon Mint and Feta Salad. Locally-sourced beer and wine is offered by the glass. “Farmer Friday”, a weekly event of live music, outdoor dining, and a chef special tasting menu, is every Friday from 5pm-8pm.
Dishes start at $10. The location at 200 Central Ave. is open Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm, Sunday 11am-8pm. All profits from the opening day benefits local non-profit Florida Dream Center, which provides services including helping sex trafficking survivors, feeding the homeless, and addiction recovery.
