South Tampa is experiencing a new culinary journey to Mexico as Streetlight Tacos opens its doors to the area. Inspired by Chef Partner and Executive Chef Michael Brannock and his travels to Mexico, the restaurant declares it’ll be an authentic Mexican dining experience.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to bring the vibrant and diverse flavors of Mexico to Tampa,” said Brannock. “Streetlight Taco is a labor of love, born from my passion for Mexican cuisine and my dedication to preserving its rich traditions. Our Grand Opening is not just about launching a restaurant; it’s about sharing the warmth, authenticity, and heart of Mexico with our community.“

Streetlight Tacos’ menu includes a selection of mouthwatering Mexican faves including taco varieties like chicken Tinga to slowly-braised pork and brisket. Vegetarians don’t worry because you’re not being left out either; options include crispy fish, sweet potato, and eggplant tacos. A highlight of Streetlight Tacos is the obligation to preserving Mexican cooking techniques. Several types of native Mexican corn will be nixtamalized and ground to create fresh masa for tortillas. Other menu options include Pueblan-style cemita sandwiches and sides like chips and salsa, salads, and entrees like wood-roasted half-chickens and carnitas platters (entrees available after 5 p.m.).

Besides Brannock, Streetlight Taco’s partners include Jack Murray and Nick Reader, who are also managing partners of Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Rocca. The team includes restaurant vet Greg Proechel as COO.

Streetlight Tacos is located at 4004 Henderson Blvd. Their days and hours of operation are Tuesday-Thursday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
