Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar debuts new menu items

Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar is one of my fave spots in Tampa. The vibes are great and so is the food. Chef Jonathan Rodriguez did his big one when he completely transformed the menu upon his initial arrival back in 2022. There’s always room for some newness in our lives and Rodriguez is revamping the menu yet again, taking inspiration from his Latin heritage.

“We’re thrilled to bring this new menu to our guests,” said Evette Torres, Dual General Manager for Aloft and Element Hotel. “Every dish is a celebration of Chef Johnathan’s innovation and passion for creating memorable dining experiences.”

Recently, the rooftop celebrated new lunch and dinner menus online.

“New menus alert!”, captioned the post.

The revamped menu will feature faves like the award-winning Tuna Tataki and table-side Tomahawk experience (which is so delicious btw). Rodriguez crafted a menu sharing the same vibrant and robust flavors as his culinary background.

Menu Highlights

Guests at Sal Y Mar can enjoy these new and classic dishes, including:

  • Tuna Tataki: Award-winning Ahi Tuna with soy caviar, wake, wasabi aioli, fried wonton, pickled ginger, sesame seeds and 23 karat gold flakes.
  • Whole Fried Snapper: Tempura-fried and topped with spicy cilantro, mango sauce, and served with tropical rice.
  • Spanish Caprese: Roasted Heirloom tomato, arugula, creamy burrata, chili oil, with spicy crostini.
  • Sal Y Mar Tomahawk Experience: 32-34 oz Tomahawk, truffle oil, Chimichurri sauce, and Maldon salt. *Upgrade your Tomahawk with the 23 Karat Golden Experience.
  • Dulce de Leche Lava Cake: Vanilla ice cream, spiked whipped cream.

Enjoy those menu items and sip on classic and artisanal craft cocktails, local beers, plus Spanish and Italian wines (curated by Rodriguez) while taking in breathtaking views of not only Tampa’s skyline but also St. Pete’s off in the distance.
