5 Fall 2024 trends to add to your closet now
Fall is always about the classics: leather, suede, boots, darker colors, and more. It feels like the past fall seasons have had a few trends that work with warmer weather but that’s why we have ways of transitioning clothing between trends right?
This year, fall 2024 trends continues with classic trends plus a few new ones…either way, there’s something for everyone:
Trending Colors
Fall has certain colors that are mainstays: shades of brown, darker tones, etc. For the past few fall seasons, brighter, bolder colors have trended and I enjoy it. If wearing bold, saturated colors isn’t your thing, wear the trend as accessories. Start with a shoe or bag to dip your toe into the trend.
Designers like Christopher John Rogers always gets me right with the bold prints and hot colors. I mean, in a sea of gray, beige, and black, why not be risky and stand out with colors like bright green, yellow, or even red?
Leopard Print
To me, leopard is a classic print; it literally goes with anything. I’ve been obsessed with leopard print a bit more this season too. I’ve been seeing the leopard print pants for a few months now and I need to get my hands on a pair for this season ASAP; I have a few pairs saved in my bookmarks for the moment I feel like pulling the trigger.
Like I said before, leopard print goes with EVERYTHING since it’s a neutral. If you want to be mindful and demure, keep it low-key and let it do all the work when it’s paired with other neutral colors (blacks, browns, beiges, etc.) but be risky and pair it with bolder, brighter colors OR mix it with another unexpected print.
Sheer/Silk/Lace (Gucci)
I think sheer/lace/silk are those fabrics that can exude sexiness. Wear it with other classic colder weather fabrics like leather, denim, or suede. Wanna go cozy? Add a sweater or cardigan to the outfit. Decided to tap in to your inner Bad Bitch Vixen? Exude an incredibly sexy vibe with a dress fitting the sheer/lace/silk vibe (obviously make sure you wear the correct undergarments duh).
70’s Bohemian
Flowy, light fabrics are all the rage this season. If you’re wondering how to transition your spring and summer outfits for this season, pair your airy fabrics with boots or heavier fabrics like leather and suede. For those in colder temperatures, add extra layering items like turtlenecks, leggings, and tights to keep warm.
Equestrian Chic
It’s been the year of Cowboy Carter. Equestrian-inspired clothing from riding boots to fringe are readily available. I know I’m on the hunt for a vintage suede fringe jacket just in case Cowboy Creole Lady decides to go on tour next year. Equestrian clothing is pretty classic so don’t feel the need to buy brand new. I got a pair of riding boots in my closet that I’ve had since I was in high school that are in great condition and they will be worn with jeans, skirts, and dresses. That summery maxi dress you wore all summer? Pair it with your equestrian pieces and tell everyone you’re going to go see a man about a horse.
