Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams celebrates Ice Cream for Breakfast Day this weekend
Do we really need an excuse to have ice cream for breakfast? NOPE. Everyone’s fave holiday, Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, is back tomorrow at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and it’s the excuse you need to wear your pajamas, grab the nearest spoon, and start your morning off the right way: with ice cream!
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams celebrates the big day with early scoop shop openings, a brand-new limited-time flavor, breakfast-inspired menu pairings like a dreamy L’affogato and Parfait special, exclusive swag, and more.
Here’s a bit of history: the holiday started in the 1960s when Florence Rappaport declared to her six kids one day it was “Ice Cream for Breakfast Day” as a way to keep the kids entertained. Of course, the Jeni’s team embraced the family tradition, also believing the sweet treat should be enjoyed any time before noon.
Scoop shops open right at breakfast time at 9 a.m. and guests can pick up activity sheets and stickers for the little ones.
Their new limited-edition flavor is called “Blueberry Johnny Cakes”. It features cornbread pancakes, blueberry-maple jam, and sweet cream. Catch the flavor in pints and buckets starting tomorrow.
L’Affogato Special kickstarts any day with the classic duo of coffee and ice cream. Try the Classico L’Affogato featuring Salty Caramel and topped with the Slingshot Cold Brew.
Guests can also indulge in the Breakfast Pairings Menu, a curated list of flavors for a morning treat, including the Balanced Breakfast option, which comes with Blueberry Johnny Cakes, Coffee with Cream & Sugar, and Darkest Chocolate in a Buttercrisp Waffle Bowl.
This is also the last chance to get the Parfait on the Beach flavor before it sails off into the sunset of paradise.
Who says we can’t have dessert for breakfast?
