Spring Summer 2025 Trends to Know About (And Buy)

Spring/summer 2025 is finally here and I’m glad to be able to start wearing less and going out more. This season’s trends go beyond florals (groundbreaking, amiright?) and these are items that are probably already in your closet.

These are the spring summer 2025 trends you need to know about (and buy):

Bohemian Rhapsody

The bohemian trend has been around for a few seasons so it’s great to see the trend is still kicking. I’ve always enjoyed the easiness and effortless of the different phases of bohemian style over the decades; I find myself dabbling in it occasionally. I’m all about the florals, maxi-length anything, the big sunnies. That Pinterest board of 70s fashion girlies like Diana Ross and Bianca Jagger? Yea, go ahead and look through that for some added inspo.

Cute Athleisure

Who said Athleisure had to just be leggings and sneakers? Take a page out of Ferragamo’s book and dress like you’re in your Black Swan (but less traumatic) ballerina era. Lace up heels and any kind of large tote bag for the “just left Pilates class” vibes just add to the “athleisure but make it cute” vibes.

 

Fancy Lady

When I was a kid, my cousins and I used to play “Ladies”, where we pretended we were ladies who lunched…fun times. Anywho, now we can dress like them. Feminine details like ruffles, fabrics like tweed, and pieces leaning a bit for vintage-y are trending for the season. Want to distinguish yourself from the frilly dresses and florals? Add a bit of menswear structure a lá Cynthia Erivo. If I recreated her look, I’d add a pop of color in my bag choice and wear a NASTY heel that’ll turn all the heads.

 

Maximalism

I feel like my style leans more maximalist but not too flashy. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with mixing patterns and colors; just having fun with the clothes I have. It’s colorful but not in your face. Spring and summer fashions are always the best times to break out your most colorful items and be more bolder than your fall and winter clothes. If you’re not someone who feels comfortable being super bold, always start off with your accessories then work your way up…baby steps.

Checkers, not Chess

Plaid or checker prints is one on those classic prints that never really go out of style. TBH, it’s a print that pairs well with basically anything. Robert has a vintage Ralph Lauren plaid shirt that I’ll probably be wearing a few times this year so if you see me in it, mind your business.

 

In the Office Vibes

What YSL did for women’s suiting is insane. When I saw it come down the runway, I became obsessed with this feminine take on menswear. Oversized suits have been trending for women for a few seasons now, another brand that does good women suiting is Fear of God. If your partner has plenty of suits, I suggest raiding their closet. Another option is going to the thrift store or perusing your favorite secondhand stores. Take the suit to the tailor so it flatters your size better.
