Beautiful Brown Girls Brunch Club at Noble Crust Carrollwood
One of my goals for this year is to be more social. When you’ve been doing stuff on your own for a long time, it’s easy to get into the groove of doing that. Unless I’m going to the gym, I can stay in my apartment with no issue. At some point, you learn human contact is important. I found (and joined) a group on the Meetup app earlier this month named “Beautiful Brown Girls Brunch Club”. I noticed the group was having a brunch event at Noble Crust in Carrollwood. Of course, I bought a ticket. I’d be an idiot to pass up brunch at a spot I’ve been trying to get to with other Black women? Yes, yes, yes.
As the days get closer to the brunch, my excitement grows. For the first time in a long time, I’m going somewhere with other Black women. It’s something about that sisterhood that warms me up. Of course, I was nervous going to the brunch because this is a new environment with new people but 5 minutes in, me and a few women hit it off. I don’t know what the next official meetup is, but I left Noble Crust excited and ready to RSVP.
The Brunch Club met up at Noble Crust in Carrollwood. Noble Crust opened up within the last couple months and I past it almost every day going to the gym. I don’t know whose Pandora was playing but they should keep that channel going. All the women, myself included, were chair-dancing to Michael and Janet while getting to know each other.
Their brunch menu offers so much variety it was a challenge to choose what I wanted. First things first, little bit of bubbly. The Pisco Punch, a cocktail of pisco (a Peruvian brandy), St. Germain, house made strawberry shrub, and Prosecco garnished with a sliver of lime set my meal off just right. For the actual course, I went with the Spinach and Goat Cheese Frittata and a fruit salad topped with St. Germain honey. You know…healthy stuff. My frittata was definitely equal parts savory and filling. Goat cheese isn’t something I eat all the time but, mixed with soft layers of eggs, spinach, and cheese plus the heirloom tomatoes peeking through, it’s something I can add to my palette.
I’m 100% positive I’ll be back at Noble Crust soon and I hope they have that same Pandora channel playing in the background.
