The Karol Hotel announces Jon Atanacio as executive chef Tuesday. His duties including directing daily culinary operations at hotel signatures K Club Bar & Bistro and Vantage Rooftop Bar. He’ll also be in charge of overseeing the food and beverage options for various meetings, local caterings, corporate events, and other special occasions.
“Jon’s passion for culinary excellence and for the Tampa Bay area have been on full display at Mainsail’s Epicurean Hotel for the past several years,” said Adam Duffey, General Manager at The Karol Hotel. “He’s bringing that same passion to The Karol here in Clearwater and will continue to raise the bar in the local dining scene.”
Atanacio became a member of the Mainsail family in 2013 when he joined Epicurean Hotel as sous chef of Élevage. Prior to that, he worked his way upon various NYC restaurants.
The Karol Hotel features K Club Bar & Bistro, which offers a menu inspired by flavors of the Florida coast and owners Fred and Karol Bullard. The restaurant blends Florida artisan and chic touches in a setting easily transitioning easily from morning coffee to evening cuisine. A wine display sits in the center of the main dining room. Vantage Rooftop Bar is the only climate-controlled rooftop bar in the area and guests can enjoy themselves 12 stories high, eating light bites while looking out to iconic views of downtown Tampa and beyond.
The Karol Hotel is scheduled to open next month.
