Bake’n Babes and Muchachas coming soon to Armature Works’ Heights Public Market

Armature Works is definitely a hotspot in town. From the time the food hall/market opened its doors almost 3 years ago. Recently, the food hall announced it was gaining 2 new vendors: Bake’n Babes and Muchachas.

Bake’n Babes is known all around Tampa for their elaborate Freak Shakes and amazing desserts. The bakery announced yesterday it’ll be opening a second location inside of Armature Works’ Heights Public Market in a few weeks. Located between Ichicoro and Empamamas, this is another chance to get their Nutella stuffed chocolate chip cookies, sleazy brownies, and more shakes, including an exclusive, revamped version of their Freak Shake.

“We’ve created some really fun items that are exclusive just to our Armature Works location & are looking forward to sharing those in the next few weeks” said Julie Curry, founder and owner of Bake’n Babes.

Opening date is TBD for now.

“I’m excited for this next step with Bake’n Babes” added Curry. “It’s great to be in a location alongside other strong women entrepreneurs like Stephanie Swanz from Empamamas, Felicia Lacalle from Kuba Cocina, and Jennifer Bingham from Cru Cellars.”

Muchachas is the sister restaurant to beloved vendor Empamamas. The concept features Mexican-inspired foods like street tacos, burritos, street corn, and birria quesatacos. It joins the other 19 vendors and takes the place of Pane Rustica Due. Owner Stephanie Swanz started the Empamamas food truck in 2016 and joined Armature Works in 2018. Official opening is TBD.

“The opportunity to open a second concept at Armature Works was too good to pass up” said Swanz. “I truly feel like Armature is the best location in town & I’ve always felt lucky to be a part of it. I’m very thankful to Chas Bruck and his team for trusting us with this new venture.”

Muchachas brings a new audience and new foods to the building.

“I have a sincere passion for entrepreneurship and while a new concept was not in my plans for 2020, it was exactly what I needed” added Swanz. “I’m looking forward to finally seeing this come to fruition, and to finish 2020 off strong.”
