Flavas Restaurants opens near Busch Gardens September 1

Who doesn’t love a good chicken wing/lemonade spot? There’s so many around my house that there is never a time Robert and I get tired of them.

Flavas Restaurants, a new wing and lemonade “hub” from Jacques Brooks and Deonta Taylor, opens this week near Busch Gardens. The menu is an extensive variety of lemonades and a selection of over 75 chicken flavors. Customers will not get tired of the menu choices from chicken rubs to fascinating sauces.

During the madness of 2020, Brooks and Taylor decided to leave their hometown Chicago and move to Tampa with aspirations of opening a restaurant. Unfortunately when they arrived, they experienced several issues leading to the delay of the restaurant’s opening.

“We were determined to launch the restaurant in 2020, but circumstances led us in a different direction. Sometimes, delayed dreams are simply preparations for the perfect timing,” commented Jacques Brooks, co-owner of Flavas Restaurants.

“Flavas is all about good food, good vibes, and creating a dynamic haven for friends and families to unwind and immerse themselves,” said Brooks. “We are proud Black-owned business owners and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our goal is to establish a place where customers can find excellent food, positive vibes, and an environment where everyone feels welcomed.”

A grand opening celebration for Flavas Restauranst is planned for September 1 at 11:30 a.m. If you’re a dessert lover like me, the first 50 people receive a free dessert! The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 1 p.m.
