St. Pete’s Cheeky’s hosts Kamayan-Style Seafood Boil with Tampa’s Lucky Tigre Kamayan-Style Seafood Boil

Did you know April is Filipino Food Month? To celebrate, Cheeky’s will host a Filipino Kamayan-style seafood boil with Tampa’s Lucky Tigre.

There’s already been a couple posts on Instagram gaining fanfare.

“Our first seafood boil was so fun that we decided to keep them going, and this next one is a special one we’ve been planning for a while,” says the post.

Cheeky’s Executive Chef Philip Cleary and Chef Julie Sainte Michelle Feliciano blend Filipino culinary traditions with Cheeky’s Old Florida style. Food is served kamayan-style on shareable bilao platters along with a few à la carte specials:

  • Mochi Fried Grouper Cheeks
  • Beef & Carrot Lumpia with sweet chili carrot vinegar
  • Cucumber Tomato Salad
  • Garlic Jasmine Fried Rice
  • French Fries with Mama Sita’s Sinigang Sa Sampalok & scallions
  • Ube Coconut Meringue Pie

Now, on the actual menu, you’ll find:

  • Coconut Garlic Shrimp
  • Longaniza Sausage
  • Fried Jasmine Rice
  • Pickled Papaya
  • Red Potatoes
  • Cornbread Hush Puppies with guava jelly
  • Roasted Oysters with Filipino Adobo

In addition to the boil, DJ AJ Hall will be at Cheeky’s spinning all the hits.

If you haven’t been to The Lucky Tigre over in Tampa’s historic Old West Tampa, you’re missing out. Each time Lucky Tigre comes across my feed, I’m salivating immediately. The menu reflects Chef Julie’s roots and flavors come from her personal experiences. I went for breakfast recently and Chef Julie and I ended having a long conversation about restaurants we want to try. It was awesome.

The seafood boil is Monday, April 13 with seatings at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Limited tickets are available for $45 each; you can purchase the 6 p.m. seating here and the 8 p.m. seating here.

Find Cheeky’s at 2823 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg and The Lucky Tigre at 1901 N Howard Ave. in West Tampa.
