Hyatt Place, Hyatt House now open in Downtown Tampa

If you’ve ever been downtown, you’ve seen the transformation currently happening in the area. First with the switch of Channelside to Sparkman Wharf, now there’s the Water Street development underway that’s turned downtown into a multi-use part of Tampa. USF will have a medical office down there and, of course, there are the high-rise condos and hotels coming too. JW Marriott Tampa Water Street opened at the end of last year and now Hyatt opens two new hotels: Hyatt Place and Hyatt House.

The first-ever combined Hyatt hotels allow guests to experience and enjoy both brands under the same roof. Located across the street from the historic City Hall, the 17-floor building has a stylish single lobby serving both Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. Featured amenities include: self and valet parking, 3,600 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, a heated rooftop pool and terrace, fitness center, and restaurant/bar Corazon, which also comes with an intimate outdoor patio, and retail space.

“Style, convenience, and diversity are the foundations of the experiences found at Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown and Hyatt House Tampa Downtown” said General Manager Patrick Sorge. “This is a highly curated and incredibly well designed dual-branded development, with all the familiar comforts of the Hyatt brands. We are thrilled to be a part of the alluring and diverse culture of downtown Tampa and look forward to welcoming leisure and business travelers who can call our property home during their visit to this incredible city.”

The properties are close to downtown attractions like the Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa Riverwalk, One Tampa City Center, Tampa Convention Center, Florida Aquarium, Amalie Arena, and Sparkman Wharf.

The accommodations at Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown gives guests the chance to sleep, work, and play. Hyatt Place is an ideal for those looking for extended stays. Guests can enjoy suites with fully-fitted kitchens, comfy living spaces, and stylish bathrooms with complimentary skin and hair products from KenetMD. Hyatt House’s VIR (Very Important Resident) program gives guests staying 21 or more consecutive nights a few perks like a complimentary welcome amenity, dining and laundry credits, and more. The hotel is pet-friendly and welcome dogs up to 50 lbs.

Now, for the food. The Corazon Bar and Restaurant focuses on local ingredients and seasonal items. Their regionally-inspired menu has dishes like the Classic Tampa Cuban Sandwich, Blackened Fish Tacos, and a signature grass-fed beef Corazon Burger with chorizo, crisp plantain, chipotle sauce, and pickled cabbage on toasted Medianoche bread. Grab-and-go options like snacks and sandwiches can be found at the hotel’s 24-hour H Market.

Three new businesses are scheduled to open soon in the retail space on the ground level: a Starbucks with outdoor seating, mobile ordering, and cold brew beverage menu; The Wicked Pour, a self-serve beer and wine taproom; and Junmai Station Sushi, a grab-and-go kiosk offering rice dishes, sushi bowls, and small plates.

Hyatt Place and Hyatt House, located at 325 N Florida Ave.,  are offering a special Grand Opening Package through May 24, 2021 for stays now until the end of the year. The package comes with a complimentary upgrade at check-in, 20% discount on food and drinks, complimentary parking, and 500 World of Hyatt points per stay.
