Florida Avenue Brewing Co. opens its Seminole Heights location May 5

Locally-owned Florida Avenue Brewing Co. opens its second location May 5 over in the Seminole Heights neighborhood close to where it used to be. The new 4,000-sq. ft. brewery comes with a contemporary-style taproom featuring 16 draft beers, a full liquor bar, outdoor patio, and full kitchen.

“The new location will share many of the most popular features of our Wesley Chapel location, but also presents us with a lot of exciting new opportunities,” said Anthony Derby, CEO of Florida Avenue Brewing Co. “With this homecoming to Florida Avenue, we plan to utilize this new brewery as an Innovation Center, where we can experiment and get creative with small batch brews by utilizing cutting-edge technology and new hop products.”

One highlight of the taproom is a L-shaped bar with a custom resin bar top made from beer can lids and serves fan favorites including Luminescence Hazy IPA, Dead Parrot, Light Lager, Passion of the Heights Tropical Wheat Ale, and nationally acclaimed You’re My Boy Blueberry Wheat Ale. The on-site brewery will create batches and products specifically for this location. A Double IPA named Coming Home is brewed specially for the grand opening occasions and all be available on draft.

Besides its own line of beers, the location has a full liquor bar with a variety of craft cocktails with names like “Brewhouse Old Fashioned”, “Dickle Creamsicle”, “Elderflower Gimme”, and the “Espresso Martini” plus a selection of wine. A 1,000-sq. ft. covered outdoor patio covers guests from the Florida humidity while packaged products and merch are up for grabs to purchase.

Pair your beers with food from the full-service kitchen similar to the Wesley Chapel location. On the menu are Cheese Curds, House-made Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Florida Avenue Smash Burger, and a selection of salads, sides, and foods for the kiddie. Executive Chef Alex Huffman does double duty at both the Seminole Heights and Wesley Chapel locations.
