31 South Speakeasy opens at St. Petersburg Distillery

St. Petersburg Distillery unveils its eatery 31 South, a 45-seat speakeasy with a St. Pete vibe. Located on the second floor, the lounge draws on the vibes of the Prohibition era with deep greens and blues, warm wood finishes, and gold accents.

Chef Johnathan Rodriguez curated all the speakeasy bites. His culinary career spans experience from Michelin-rated venues and is decorated with accolades including the prestigious ‘Best Chef Award’ at the Savor St. Pete Food & Wine Festival in both 2022 and 2023, as well as recognitions from Taste of Clearwater and the “Chef Inspired Award.”

The cocktail program features libations created with St. Petersburg Distillery’s premium, handcrafted spirits. Highlights include the Matcha Latte Martini with Banyan Reserve Vodka, Hibiscus Gimlet with Old St. Pete Tropical Gin, Mai Tai with Old St. Pete Righteous Rum & Spice and Tippler’s Orange Liqueur, Maple Old Fashioned with Old St. Pete Sunshine Whiskey, and a specialty Espresso Martini. Tastings of the distillery’s spirits are also available, offering guests a deeper exploration of the house portfolio.

“During the day, St. Petersburg Distillery is a place where guests can experience the spirit of St. Pete in our Spirits Garden, Welcome Salon, and tour Florida’s top craft distillery,” said Evan Brownstein, CEO of St. Petersburg Distillery. “Now, at night, guests can discover a whole new experience, a place true to St. Petersburg’s elegant bootlegger spirit in a convivial club-like social setting.”

Now open to the public, 31 South welcomes guests Thursday through Saturday evenings from 6 to 11 p.m. St. Petersburg Distillery is located at 800 31st St. S. For details and more info, follow 31 South on Instagram and check out St. Petersburg Distillery’s website.
