Mordisco Steakhouse brings Venezuelan and Caribbean Wood-Fired cuisine to Orlando

Mordisco Steakhouse, the popular Miami dining hotspot known for its bold Venezuelan-Caribbean flavors and signature Venezuelan live-fire cooking tradition has officially opened its second location in Orlando’s International Drive area.

Mordisco has quickly established itself as one of Orlando’s newest dining destinations since opening on May 19, welcoming more than 18,900 guests within its first 30 days of opening. The name “Mordisco,” meaning “bite” in Spanish, was inspired by the idea that the very first bite is where the magic begins, a moment when flavors surprise, senses awaken, and lasting memories are created.

Corporate Chef and Sommelier Cesar Gonzalez curated the menu, which pays tribute to Venezuelan and Caribbean culinary traditions while incorporating contemporary techniques and globally inspired touches at the same time. At the heart of the guest experience is the restaurant’s signature Carne en Vara: a time-honored Venezuelan method of slowly roasting premium meats over open wood embers. In its first month alone, the restaurant served more than 6,800 pounds of wood-fired Prime meats.

“Opening Mordisco in Orlando is a very special moment for us because it allows us to introduce more guests to the flavors and traditions we grew up with, while presenting them in a way that feels modern, elevated, and approachable,” said Cesar Gonzalez, Corporate Chef and Sommelier of Mordisco Steakhouse. “From our wood-fired Carne en Vara to our seafood dishes and cocktail program, every detail was created to deliver an experience that feels vibrant, memorable, and rooted in genuine hospitality.”

The menu ranges from traditional Venezuelan to elevated modern creations. Guests can begin with appetizers such as Tequeños, Picanha Tostones, Wood-Fired De Mano Cheese, or the award-winning Ceviche Carnavalero featuring cobia fish, leche de tigre, crispy quinoa, sweet plantains, and Venezuelan ají dulce oil.

Signature entrées include Prime Picanha en Vara , Argentinean-style short ribs, Branzino “Chalala,” Venezuelan-style Pasticho (a decadent lasagna), wood-roasted chicken, and expansive wood-fired platters designed for sharing. The restaurant offers a dessert lineup inspired by classic Venezuelan flavors and indulgent modern touches. Options include Artisanal Venezuelan Quesillo, Venezuelan Chocolate Marquesa, Burnt Basque Cheesecake, Dulce de Lechosa, warm Nutella brownies, and crispy churros served with Nutella.

Mordisco also introduces “The Mordisco Experience,” a curated three-course seasonal tasting menu available for both lunch ($35) and dinner ($45). During the week, lunch specials are available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with midday offerings alongside complimentary soup of the day and a chef-selected sweet treat.

The extensive beverage menu features a curated variety of thoughtfully selected wines, premium spirits, handcrafted cocktails, tropical rum drinks, and spirit-free mocktails to pair with the restaurant’s bold flavors. Sip signature cocktails like the Mordisco Old Fashioned, Caracas Mule  Cocada Martini, and Santa Patilla. The wine list spans Napa Valley, Argentina, Spain, Chile, France, and Italy.
