Spring/summer 2021 color trends are all about being bold, daring, attention-grabbing, and super colorful. When the world opens up and brunch is POPPIN’ poppin, stand out in the crowd and make a statement. Fortunately, a lot of the following colors can work with whatever your aesthetic is: cottagecore, minimalist(keeping the bold color for accessories), or full-out maximalist. We’ve done a lot of shopping for this moment and now it’s the time to shine!
I don’t have much orange in my wardrobe but clearly that needs to change. I think orange can be one of those “difficult” colors for me to throw in an outfit unless it’s an accessory. An orange floral dress like above is super fitting for warmer temperatures. It’s a dress that works for all occasions from a simple date night to whatever summer weddings you plan on attending…whether they’re virtual or in-person.
According to color psychology, shades of blue are said to bring a state of calmness and serenity so it’s no wonder a lot of people find listening to waves or going to the beach something relaxing. A shade of blue like cerulean is one of those colors that brings a level of vibrancy that’s eye-catching to any outfit. Whether it’s an accessory or in a print, it can’t be missed.
Yellow has been one of my favorite colors since I was a little kid. It’s bright, it’s bold, and SCREAMS “Hello Spring! Hello Summer!” What I love about the color is it instantly changes a mood. On a “meh” kinda day, wearing yellow lifts my spirits and makes me feel happy. I realize as much as I love the color, I don’t have enough of it in my closet either.
Highlighter green reigns supreme for another year. Walk around looking like a bright bag of money at whatever spring and/or summer event you attend. A cute, flowy dress like above keeps you comfortable and carefree. No one is going to be able to keep their eyes off you.
First off, Zendaya can wear a plastic bag and still make it look like something I need to have in my closet. Colors like bubblegum pink let you know warmer weather is on the horizon. It’s such a bold, beautiful color that lets people know you’re in the room. It’s refreshing to see grown women take a color usually reserved for small girls and make it their own. If you’re feeling really daring, create a colorblocking moment pairing pink with other colors like red, blue, or pastel shades.
After the year everyone has had, have fun and make the most out of the spring/summer 2021 color trends. Put those neutrals away and spice it up!
