Tampa’s 7th+Grove Restaurant & Lounge appears on Cooking Channel’s Food Paradise show today

The Tampa food scene is out here WORKING working overtime. Not only are restaurants popping up in all the major publications but also on tv. The great thing about what’s happening now is the area’s Black-owned restaurants are getting hella recognition (rightfully so) and 7th+Grove Restaurant & Lounge is high on the list. From the time the hotspot opened in 2019 until now, they hit the ground running. Even my mom makes frequent requests to return to enjoy the food.

Everyone will get to see why 7th+Grove Restaurant & Lounge was voted “best food and craft cocktails” at Metropolitan Ministries’ Tampa Bay Food Fight. Today, viewers all over the country can get a look at the restaurant on Cooking Channel’s Food Paradise show, which airs tonight at 10pm.

7th+Grove Hospitality Group’s partners opened the doors to the Ybor City hotspot to the network for their “Comfort on the Coast” episode and highlights a dish coined “a Tampa staple with a Grove twist.”

“We are excited to share our unique elevated southern cuisine and highlight the flavors of our beloved coast, shares Khalilah McDuffie, partner at 7TH + GROVE Hospitality Group; “We can’t wait to shine a light on what makes Tampa cuisine special.”

Fans were sad last month when it was announced the Sparkman Wharf location would close. The Instagram page for the former 7th+Grove South assured followers there’s more to come in the future.

“We have made the decision to close our Sparkman Wharf location and are so eager to show you the new concepts we have coming soon!,” an Instagram post said.

A short-film titled “Mr.Greens” was released recently, highlighting their take on Southern cuisine in a campaign titled “Cornbread Fed”. Local director Moji Wilson produced and directed the film. You can watch the film and glance at Cornbread Fed photos here.
